Formerly “The Summer Club Hotel” , the River Tree Bolgoda is a new, totally refurbished and expanded resort which is under new ownership, catering to individuals or functions and offering accommodation.
River Tree Bolgoda is on the banks of the Bolgoda River near Panadura surrounded by lush greenery, offering a spectacular view of the Bolgoda Lake and the famous Lovers Bridge.
The Bridge is a well-known location for photo-shoots among the photographers for their newly married clients wedding photography, and is only a 3-minute walk from the hotel.
The hotel is an ideal place for you to relax with your family and friends to escape the chaos of the city life under a 30 minutes’ drive as the hotel is located only 11km from the famous Mount Lavinia beach.
Our amenities include 5 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a Bar with indoor seating as well as a terrace with shaded seating, indoor restaurant, a banquet hall with a view of the pool and the lake, an open air roof top event area that can accommodate over 200pax, and an outdoor pool with a kids section, as well as a large garden with space for garden gatherings. Ample parking is available too.

Managing Partner
Achala S K Basnayake holds a BSc Honours in Human Resources Management from the University College Dublin (UGC)and a Higher National Diploma in HRM from NIBM. Beginning her career in the hospitality industry, Achala gained extensive experience in front office operations at the Colombo Hilton and Lanka Oberoi, followed by a five-year tenure at Bahrain Hilton. She further honed her sales and Personnel Department skills at Al Ain Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, culminating in her role as Personnel Manager.
Achala’s portfolio also includes significant stints outside the hospitality sector, serving as Office Manager at Microsills Limited, HR Manager at S.J.M.S Chartered Accountants and HR Consultant at Vogue Jewellers. With nearly two decades in the industry, Achala transitioned to hospitality entrepreneurship by acquiring and rebranding River Tree Bolgoda, formerly Summer Club Hotel. As the Managing Partner, she drives the brand’s success, championing personalized guest experiences and hotel excellence.
Mr. AJP Nishantha Silva
Partner, Sales Director
co-owner of River Tree Bolgoda by Summer Club, is a proud alumnus of St. Peter’s College, Colombo, where he studied from kindergarten through A-levels, embodying the spirit of a true “Peterite.” With a postgraduate degree in Marketing Management from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
Nishantha began his career in the pharmaceutical industry as a medical representative. He gained valuable sales experience at Abu Dhabi Duty Free before returning to Sri Lanka, where he now oversees marketing for River Tree Bolgoda.
